It’s time to get serious about blockchain.

Blockchain has often been too easy to dismiss, with cryptocurrencies having all the stability of a wet cake at times and frequently requiring ludicrous computing power to action mining or transactions. Well it seems it is time to get serious about it, as numerous major players move from theory through to real-world deployments and tests. This week we look at the development of blockchain in logistics and what this could mean for players across the industry, big and small – from Nestle, IBM and Accenture, down to the producers. Will this shake up the big supply chain software players, which currently have nearly 60% market share (see first story), or will they be able to launch their own blockchain networks?
