Crunch time for retail delivery and supply chain – Target, Home Depot and Google join forces in New York this July

Heads of supply chain and omnichannel from the most respected names in retail will discuss and debate the evolution of the industry and the role of supply chain within it, at eft’s Dynamic Distribution Disruption (D3) Summit on 13-14 July in New York.

NEW YORK (April 8, 2016) – After a tough fourth quarter for bricks-and-mortar in 2015, which saw slumps in stock at Macy’s, Nordstrom and Kohl’s to name just a few, leading US and international retailers, including Lacoste, Aldo, M&S, Nike and Walmart are coming together in New York this summer in order to draw up a roadmap for the transformation of retail towards a future dominated by omnichannel, e-commerce, mobile and big data.

The D3 Retail Summit will unite over 150 senior decision-makers from leading physical and online merchants to tackle the strategic challenges affecting retail supply chains in 2016. Joining the debate will be top-flight brands, manufacturers and 3PL companies, as well as the next generation of tech disruptors currently reshaping the way shoppers shop. Key discussions will surround everything from omnichannel strategy and inventory management to forecasting analytics and real-time supply-chain visibility, with insights from a host of retail thought leaders– from Target’s VP Omnichannel, Mike Passales to DSW’s SVP Logistics, Jeff Girard.

Upon asking Girard details of the summit from conception to launch, he said, “As I’ve seen this conference grow, there have been more and more high profile brands and extremely talented supply chain leaders that are going to be attending the event.  These are people who really are at the forefront of supply chain innovation so the networking and learning opportunity is going to be immense.”

eft’s Head of Retail, Priyanka Asera, has been the force behind putting this summit together. “The response has been terrific! Retailers have long been struggling with what it means to do business in an ‘omnichannel’ world and D3 serves as a rallying point where they can meet peers and network with global brands, 3PLs and tech players.

With distribution moving from the backroom to becoming, increasingly, a key competitive differentiator for consumers, the industry needs to commit to addressing supply-chain challenges holistically and collaboratively, through the abolition of silos and tighter collaboration between retailers and their supply/distribution networks”, Asera said.

Hugh Williams, Managing Director at Hughenden Consulting, is chairing the event, and will marshal two days of frank and varied discussions among speakers from a broad cross-section of departments and companies.
