Venlo Welcomes Important International Exhibition In 2015

eft, a reputable business intelligence organization in the logistics sector, will hold its annual CSCO Forum and 3PL Summit in logistics hotspot Venlo-Venray in 2015.

SMART Logistics Centre Venlo was responsible for generating sufficient regional support. ‘It worked,’ says board member Ron Kuypers of SMART LCV’s Acquisition, PR & Branding Department. ‘I never doubted for a second that we’d generate enough support.’The CSCO Forum and 3PL Summit is a multi-day networking and knowledge event for major international logistics providers – the chain directors responsible for overseeing the global transport of goods. The Summit is extremely important, with three hundred board-level participants travelling to Venlo to network, participate in workshops, and discuss the latest logistical developments. EFT also arranges meetings to put logisticians in contact with international decision makers.

Kuypers is delighted that EFT chose Venlo as the venue for its next Summit. ‘We’re an important logistics hotspot in the Netherlands. We’ve held the number one position for years now thanks to our diverse product range and our versatility in terms of supply chain management and knowledge. International logistics leaders may know us from doing regular business with us, but it’s great to give them the opportunity to get to know the area where it all started.’

Alderman of Economic Affairs Stephan Satijn of Venlo is equally pleased. ‘The fact that a first-rate conference like this is coming to Venlo is a credit to all of our logistics companies. This region has been a well-kept secret for far too long. SMART Logistics Centre Venlo should be commended for generating support for this event. It’s a great example of our preferred work method: for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs, and with government support.’

For Chris Saynor, CEO of EFT, Venlo was an obvious choice. ‘The 2014 Summit was held in Amsterdam. Before that it was held in cities like London, Brussels, Dubai, Singapore, Antwerp, Chicago, and Atlanta. But there’s a reason why industry experts consider Venlo-Venray to be the number one logistics hotspot in the Netherlands. And one with great European ambitions to boot. This makes the region extremely interesting for our participants.’

Twan Beurskens, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Land Development for the Province of Limburg, is also pleased with the arrival of the logistics summit. ‘It’s a recognition of the region as the logistics hub of Europe.’ The summit is another way for Limburg to solidify its number one position in the field of logistics.

The CSCO Forum and 3PL Summit will be held in October 2015 in De Maaspoort in Venlo. The Summit will provide De Maaspoort with an excellent opportunity to present itself to the international community. ‘Venlo residents know us as a well-equipped and versatile theatre, but we’re also more than capable of hosting international events like the EFT,’ says director Leon Thommassen. ‘The participants will return home feeling great after their four-day stay.’

Within SMART Logistics Centre Venlo, the local logistics industry of North Limburg collaborates with regional governments and knowledge institutes to strengthen the position of Venlo-Venray as a European logistics hotspot. The initiative focuses on infrastructure, employment, education, innovation, acquisition, PR, and branding. Over 200 stakeholders are affiliated with SMART Logistics Centre Venlo.
