Hughenden Consulting to Chair the Life Sciences Supply Chain Summit in Amsterdam this December 3-4

Distinguished supply chain management experts, Hughenden Consulting, will be chairing the discussions at this year’s Life Sciences Supply Chain Summit (Mercure Amsterdam City, December 3-4).

Hugh Williams, Managing Director at Hughenden says of his role as Chairman, “This is the 3rd time I will have chaired this conference and I look forward to it more and more each time.  Believe it or not, by 12h30 on Day 1 last year there had only been 12 PowerPoint slides and 6 of those were introductions! We really did things differently.  We even set off some activities that would be carried out after the event and everyone involved worked really hard to make it an interactive session.  This year we will be working just as hard to engage and involve everyone.”

Bringing together supply chain leaders from the largest global pharmaceutical and medical devices companies, the Life Sciences Supply Chain Summit will explore the latest supply chain opportunities, regulation changes and drivers that are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for supply chain executives working in this region.

Niek Visarius, EMEA Commercial Operations Leader - Sr. Director at Philips, Sam MacHour, Global Vice President- Quality & Compliance Operations at Becton Dickinson and Emmanuel Cambresy, Global Supplier Performance & Innovation Manager – Warehousing & Distribution at Novartis are among the executives who will provide first-hand insight into the trends driving their operations.

The interactive portions of the event will focus on S&OP, future trends for the industry and End-to-End Supply Chain Metrics. Of these interactive sessions, Hugh Williams comments, “Most businesses are trying to understand what it means to work and behave in an End-To-End supply chain.  You would think it was obvious but when you have been working in your own silo, either within your company or just within your supply chain, it is far from obvious.  Amongst other things, we will be discussing collaboration - internal, external, horizontal and vertical.  We’ll discuss visibility and the difference between data and information. All this means change.  What does real Change Management involve? It should make for some lively and valuable discussions.”

Having been consulting in the Supply Chain sector for more than 25 years and delivered millions of pounds of business improvement to clients all over the world, Hugh Williams is perfectly positioned to ensure that discussions at the event are valuable and taken forward once the 2 days have finished. Williams comments, “Opening up supply chain people’s eyes to the art of the possible, is something we do every day at Hughenden. eft has given us another opportunity to encourage people to think beyond the current status quo. Change is uncomfortable.  A learning experience such as this conference must be fun and yet challenging.  I will be doing my best to make sure we achieve this.”

This year’s Life Sciences Supply Chain Summit is the ideal platform to examine the crucial trends and challenges changing the face of the pharmaceutical and medical devices supply chains and most importantly, to push boundaries and provide an excellent learning opportunity.
