Gazeley announces deal for build-to-suit warehouse for Rudolph Logistik

Gazeley has signed a deal with Rudolph Logistik Gruppe, to develop a new build-to-suit cross-docked distribution centre at its flagship German distribution park Magna Park Kassel.

The new building is located on a plot with direct access to the A7, A44 and A49 national motorways. It will offer 16.700 sq m of warehouse space. Gazeley secured the strategic land position in the southern part of the Kassel Freight Village in April earlier this year.

Speaking about the announcement Ingo Steves, Managing Director Gazeley Germany said This deal further underlines the outstanding credentials and capabilities that Magna Park Kassel offers to the logistics and transport industry. Gazeley are pleased to support the expansion needs of this successful logistics service provider and we look forward to developing a successful partnership”

Peter Mahneke, Director of Integrated Traffic at Rudolph Logistik Gruppe also said: “For our supply chain and distribution logistics services to operate successfully it is of utmost importance to have the benefit of a well-developed logistics park infrastructure together with an excellent location and traffic connections. Magna Park Kassel offers all of those things together with the potential land to cater for the further expansion possibilities of our business”

The new building when constructed will feature 34 dock doors across two-sided loading facilities. It will be operated by Rudolph as a hub for logistics services within the Kassel region, securing around 100 jobs for the local community.

In addition to a high number of HGV and car parking, there will be a dedicated paved area of 12,000 sq.m specifically for HGV trailer parking.

Gazeley has awarded the building works contract to the general contractor Goldbeck with construction set to commence this month.

Handover to the customer is projected for the second quarter of 2014.
