GoPuff gets go-ahead for 300,00 sq ft technology & distribution centre in South Jersey

New 299,750-square-foot technology and distribution centre will be built on the Glassboro-Harrison border

GoPuff, an on-demand delivery company, has accepted a grant from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority with the aim of becoming fully operational by the end of 2019.

It is expected that the facility will support more than 600 new jobs over the next three years.

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority in November approved a $39.1 million tax incentive for the South Jersey facility goPuff had been considering.

The tax credits will be dispersed over 10 years to encourage expansion in Glassboro and Harrison.

The Gloucester County distribution will be one of three goPuff facilities in New Jersey; the others are in New Brunswick and Cherry Hill.

Along with the Gloucester County facility, goPuff will also build a new 30,000-square-foot headquarters in Philadelphia and 10 warehouses across Pennsylvania as part of a $4 million expansion plan expected to generate over 500 new jobs.

The company in October expanded to its first suburban market in Cherry Hill, N.J.

goPuff is a digital convenience retailer operating in over 50 US markets and delivering thousands of products – ranging from snacks, drinks, ice cream, beverages, groceries, household goods, and more – directly to customers from centrally located warehouses for a flat $1.95 delivery fee. All orders are accessible through the goPuff mobile app (iOS and Android) or goPuff.com.

“The addition of our new distribution center is important to our continued growth and success,” Ilishayev said in a statement.

"This new distribution center will not only enhance our supply chain, but will also serve as a hub for technology developments for our business as we continue to innovate," Ilishayev said.

“We are proud that goPuff has chosen Gloucester County for the location of its new distribution center,” said Heather Simmons, Liaison to Economic Development. “Gloucester County is the fastest growing county in the third largest metropolitan region in the Northeast and we look forward to we look forward to a long, successful partnership working together with goPuff to create additional jobs in our area.”
