CKYH Alliance slow steams in Asia – Europe trade

The CKYH Alliance will implement slow steaming on the current Asia-Europe/ Mediterranean loops

Slow steaming will be implemented on the eastbound in an effort to reduce CO2 emissions

The slow steaming services will be NE1, NE2, NE4 and MD2, with MD2 being the first - having started in December after passage through the Suez Canal eastbound

The remaining NE3 and MD1 are planned to begin slow steaming during the first half of 2010, and adjusted service details are as follows:

  • NE1
  • Slow steaming starts January 28th
  • Port rotation: Ningbo > Shanghai > Hong Kong > Nansha > Rotterdam > Hamburg > Felixstowe > Antwerp > Singapore > Ningbo
  • NE2
  • Slow steaming starts January 27th
  • Port rotation: Xiamen > Kaohsiung > Yantian > Singapore > Rotterdam > Felixstowe > Hamburg > Antwerp > Jeddah > Hong Kong > Yantian > Xiamen
  • NE4
  • Slow steaming starts February 11th
  • Port rotation: Kwangyang > Pusan > Ningbo > Shanghai > Singapore > Hamburg > Rotterdam > Le Havre > Port Said > Singapore > Hong Kong > Kwanyang
  • MD2
  • Slow steaming began December 7th
  • Port rotation: Shanghai > Ningbo > Xiamen > Kaohsiung > Shekou > Singapore > Port Said > Piraeus > Genoa > La Spezia > Barcelona > Valencia > Port Said > Singapore > Shanghai
