eyefortransport has now compiled the 2010 Logistics CIO Report, based on the results of an annual survey that had an overwhelming response this year of more than 150 executives in supply chain and transport & logistics fields.

Summarised by the report are the opinions and industry insights of executives from DHL Global Forwarding, Supply Chain Consulting Group, Kuehne & Nagel DSIA, CEVA Logistics, ITS Norway, WTC Confianza, Dimerco Express Group, Danone, inet-logistics and Agility Logistics.

The report can be downloaded now from: http://events.eyefortransport.com/logisticstecheu/download-report.shtml

The survey yielded some interesting findings, including:

  • 65% of shippers agree on which IT and technology solutions yielded the highest ROI
  • 67% of shippers have sought new IT or technology as a way to reduce overall costs in light of the recession
  • There is a huge disparity between shippers and transport and logistics providers regarding who should cover the costs of IT/technology upgrades.
  • 93% of transportation and logistics providers agree on what motivates them to upgrade/enhance supply chain IT/technology capabilities

This in-depth report provides invaluable information regarding industry trends; reveals what motivates top supply chain executives when seeking new technologies, and gives hot leads as to which technologies will yield the highest ROI over the coming twelve.
