eft’s European Disrupt Logistics Hackathon winner has been selected by an esteemed panel of judges:
Including Chris Roe, Head of Supply Chain Finance, Amazon, Daniel Wood, Vice President Major projects & Innovation DHL Supply Chain MLEMEA, Ivo Te Koppele, Global Technology Services, TSS SPO, Senior Service Logistics Supply Chain Manager EMEA,IBM, Hugh WILLIAMS, MD, Hughenden Consulting,Jesper Bille Bennike, CEO, Gatehouse Logistics, Otto Spaan, Business Director, syncreon, and Edwin Tuyn, MD, Inspired Search.
Teams of 4-5 members were given 5 hours to create a solution or product that logistics providers could offer to retailers or manufacturers. They then had to pitch their idea in front of the judging panel.
The winning team developed a pitch showcasing an app that allowed logistics companies to use people that stay at home during the day to serve effectively as neighbourhood pick-up points. The resulting service, they suggested, would help logistics providers cut down on time and cost associated with missed deliveries and help the customer avoid the disappointment of missing a delivery.
