Amazon’s Chris Roe to join European Disrupt Logistics Hackathon as a judge

Amazon’s Head of EU Supply Chain Finance is set to join eft’s European Disrupt Logistics Hackathon as a judge.

eft developed its Disrupt Logistics hackathon series to proactively engage a gathering of some of supply chain’s most senior-level decision-makers on two major challenges affecting the industry. The hackathons are structured to address both the talent shortage affecting many businesses within supply chain as well as the need for more innovation in logistics.

Given just 5 hours, teams of hackathon competitors, made-up of up and coming supply chain talent, are asked to create a brand-new solution or product logistics service providers can offer to their customers. Each team will then pitch their idea to a panel of judges.

eft is excited to announce the inclusion of one of the industry’s most innovative companies to the European hackathon judging panel. ‘Amazon has been generating a significant amount of buzz across the supply chain industry, and it’s no wonder, the scale of their operations, efficiency and growth are incredible.’ Said Haley Garner, Head of Research and Content at eft.

“I’m grateful to EFT for inviting me to their Disrupt Logistics Hackathon where I’ll be judging the teams for their alignment with our core Amazon principles of curiosity,  innovation and ‘thinking big’.  I’m looking forward to discovering the future data-driven leaders of logistics and supply chain and seeing their outstanding customer-focused solutions” Said Chris Roe, Head of EU Supply Chain Finance for Amazon.

Amazon will be joining fellow judges from Hughenden Consulting, Inspired Search, GateHouse Logistics, DHL and eft. Competitors will be joining from XPO Logistics, Caterpillar, CEVA, and multiple universities including the Hogeschool and the TIAS School of Business & Society.

The hackathon will be taking place October 10th at Venlo, Netherlands De Maaspoort Theatre from 12:00. If you’re interested in getting involved, click here for more information.
