10-4 Systems, project44, Cargo Chief weigh in on whether logistics tech companies can take over the industry

Cargo Chief, project44, Ubimax, Freightos, Invata Intralogistics and 10-4 Systems spoke to eft about the future logistics landscape and how their products are transforming an age-old industry

Technology-based logistics start-ups and other disruptors are making industry headlines. eft, a leading logistics and supply chain business intelligence company, conducted a Q&A with some of the leading disruptive companies in the space to understand how they are applying new thinking to an age-old industry.

Executives were asked what they see as the 3 biggest developments impacting logistics in the next 5 years, the biggest challenges they’ve encountered to achieving growth and if there’s a tipping point where tech-driven logistics companies are going to start to out-strip traditional logistics providers.

When asked for the biggest challenges the industry is going to face in the next 5 years, Tommy Barnes, President of project44 highlighted the importance of technology. ‘In an industry typically resistant to change and innovation, supply chains functioning with antiquated technology will be at a significant disadvantage and unable to reduce costs, limit claims, increase operational effectiveness and improve customer service.’

Percy Stocker, the Managing Director of Ubimax echoed the sentiment of a call for innovation. ‘I get the feeling that the significance of innovations is being more and more recognized across the whole industry and companies are gradually more open to the new trend.’

These executives were interviewed for this piece in association with the 3PL Summit and CSCO Forum place in Chicago this June 20-22. If you’d like to meet some of them in person, there are discounted tickets available for LSPs and solution providers as well as complimentary passes for senior supply chain executives working at a manufacturer or retailer.
