eft Weekly Newsletter 8th May 2014

2014 3PL Awards Open; The Evolution of eCommerce; FedEx Acquires Supaswift

First and foremost this week, eft’s 2014 3PL Awards shortlist has been revealed and voting is now officially open! The awards celebrate the top 3PLs in 10 different industry verticals for excellence in service delivery as selected by leading manufacturers and retailers. The winners of the final round of customer voting will then be announced and celebrated at the annual the 3PL Summit & Chief Supply Chain Officer Forum on the 11-13th June in Chicago. Voting closes on the 21st May so make sure you’ve had your say before then.

Secondly, we have two articles that have been extremely well received across social media in the past week. Vivek Sood’s latest column, and the second part of his popular article ‘Supply Chain 3.0 is Real, and Here Now’ comprehensively discusses the ‘five key areas’ Vivek used to define the rankings described in his preceding piece. The other is an article by Adam Robinson from Cerasis, in which he illustrates how the supply chain has evolved, and examines the implications it has had on the supply chain in e-commerce.

Finally, I’d like to remind you that our Hi-Tech and Electronics Supply Chain Summit, May 21-22nd in Amsterdam is nearing full capacity, and with top speakers from Bang & Olufsen, Foxconn, Canon, HP and Infineon as well as  Hugh Williams at Hughenden Consulting acting as event chairman, it is not something you want to miss!
