eft Weekly Newsletter 24th April 2014

New 2014 Interactive 3PL Warehousing Map; Georgia Logistics Market Snapshot; 3PL Summit Supports Aspire of Illinois

Following on from last week’s theme of our upcoming events, we are delighted to announce that the 3PL Summit & CSCO Forum will be supporting Aspire of Illinois through fundraising at the event. Aspire offers a range of services to children, adults and families struggling with disabilities, but as a non-profit organisation they rely heavily on donations. Whether or not you are attending the summit, please take the time to read about Aspire and if you would like to get involved, let me know .

Sticking with the 3PL theme, eft has just released the beta version of its interactive 2014 North American 3PL Warehouse Map, following the launch of the immensely popular 2012 edition. With 1000+ locations plotted directly onto a Google Map base, and the ability for you to submit your own data, it has been re-vamped and is now better than ever. You can find the map, or submit your own data here.

Georgia Logistics has recently released its April edition of its monthly statistical round up of the logistics market, and as with every month, eft has picked out what we think are the most interesting points to share with you. Although these are predominantly associated with the US, they might help to illustrate why Cathy Morrow has described Latin America as “A Region of Great Promise Despite Itself”, or why Zara could be looking at rising competition

Finally, ensuing last week’s article, the second of a three part analysis about eft’s collaborative S&OP survey with Hughenden Consulting has been released, looking at management involvement in S&OP, the business areas concerned with it and how CEOs may lead by example to implement S&OP in their company.
